Designing for Augmented Reality – Motus Lab

I helped to develop the narrative and 3D assets in this augmented reality project for Mike Seymour at the Education Research Project Motus Lab USYD motuslab.org, in collaboration with Mod Studios. The augmented reality experience explains the use of blockchain security for secure communication via virtual artificial intelligent avatars.

Starting with a basic narrative, I planned the scale and layout of the assets so that they would fit comfortably on a table. To do this, I first used real objects to map out the scene for scale reference, and then 3D scanned that scene as a starting point for the layout of the augmented reality 3D models.

My work involved developing and breaking down the narrative and creating 3D models and preparing animations for augmented reality.

To help illustrate the concept of the public blockchain, I created some low polygon animations, keeping in mind a real world scale that would work in augmented reality.
